About the Role:
Join Standard Chartered’s Financial Markets (FM) division as part of the Cortex DevOps team, working alongside the Modelling & Analytics Group (MAG). You’ll help build and deploy high-performance software tools that enable real-time pricing, risk reporting, and portfolio analytics. The stack primarily uses Haskell (and its internal variant, Mu), supporting a wide range of applications from trading GUIs to scalable backend systems.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop high-reliability, performance-focused software using Haskell

Contribute to architecture design and cross-team collaboration

Assist in front-to-back integration, bridging front office and back office concerns

Build systems supporting risk modeling, trade analysis, and pricing

Work across diverse projects: GUIs, reporting tools, DevOps, and infrastructure

Collaborate closely with traders and structuring teams to optimize tools and processes
Requirements:

Degree in Computer Science or similar field

1–2 years of functional programming experience (preferably Haskell)

Strong grasp of CS fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, concurrency

Mathematical aptitude and analytical mindset

Clear communicator with team-oriented mindset

Experience in project leadership and stakeholder management
Bonus Skills:
