About the Role

This engineering position involves designing and building APIs, libraries, and services that support Bitnomial’s core systems. The role requires full lifecycle development from design to deployment and collaboration within a tightly integrated engineering team. Emphasis is placed on shared understanding of data models, technical requirements, and code quality through regular reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop APIs, libraries, and backend services
  • Build, integrate, and deploy systems end-to-end
  • Collaborate within a close-knit engineering team to align on data models and technical standards
  • Participate in code reviews to support best practices and team knowledge sharing

Required Skills

  • Experience with Haskell
  • Background in large-scale, real-time, and distributed systems
  • Strong experience with SQL databases, especially PostgreSQL
  • Proficiency in working with Linux systems, preferably Ubuntu
  • Skilled in RESTful API design
  • Competent in unit and functional testing and debugging
  • Familiarity with Git, GitHub workflows, code review, and CI tools
  • Understanding of and interest in bitcoin and cryptocurrencies
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with deployment tools such as Terraform and Ansible
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS
  • Experience with financial systems including matching engines, digital wallets, clearing and settlement, lending, trading, and accounting
  • Experience with React and TypeScript
