About the Role

The Software Engineer will join the SABRE team, a core risk and PnL platform serving the Financial Markets. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop and implement key components for the SABRE platform. The role involves collaboration with team members and stakeholders to design critical solutions, focusing on both technical implementation and project management. Ideal candidates will have a solid understanding of computer science and experience in functional programming, particularly in Haskell.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain key components of the SABRE risk platform as part of high-profile strategic programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and deliver critical solutions.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand and meet precise requirements.
  • Take ownership of key project deliverables, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery.
  • Work with Haskell and the company’s in-house variant language, Mu, to create robust, scalable solutions.
  • Support architectural design, technical decisions, and communication with various stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of computer science principles, including algorithms, data structures, concurrency, and computational complexity.
  • Proficiency in at least one major programming language (C++, Java, or Python).
  • Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux operating systems and bash scripting.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices and automation tools.
  • Experience working with scheduling and workload automation tools.
  • Background in functional programming, with a preference for Haskell.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in the financial services industry (preferred, but not required).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaboration in cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of in-house languages like Mu, or similar functional programming languages.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to work with remote teams and stakeholders in a hybrid work environment.
