About the Role

Bellroy is seeking an experienced Haskell Developer to join its team. This role offers the flexibility of working from the Collingwood office or remotely from anywhere in Australia. The successful candidate will contribute to building features that not only meet today’s needs but are designed to evolve gracefully for the future. You will have the opportunity to take part in bi-monthly Hack Day events and work within a culture that promotes intellectual honesty, autonomy, and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality code using Haskell or other functional programming languages.
  • Contribute to the development of scalable features that evolve over time.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build exceptional, long-lasting solutions.
  • Participate in bi-monthly Hack Day events to foster innovation and idea generation.
  • Mentor and support junior developers, encouraging a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure your work is thoughtfully designed and built with long-term sustainability in mind.

Required Skills

  • 2+ years of experience working with Haskell or a similar functional programming language.
  • Strong focus on high-quality code design and long-term maintainability.
  • Ability to thrive in a cross-functional team, collaborating with experts from various fields.
  • Familiarity with Nix, and the ability to leverage it effectively.
  • Experience working with the AWS ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with Ruby on Rails codebases and the ability to navigate them efficiently.
  • Passion for solving challenges and creating exceptional, scalable solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Nix, having successfully utilized it in previous projects.
  • Familiarity with Ruby on Rails codebases and their integration with other systems.
  • Curiosity and openness to exploring new technologies, whether through technical blogs or broader learning sources like podcasts.
  • Desire to contribute to a company committed to using business for good.
