About the Role
Tontine Trust is seeking a Haskell Backend Developer with strong functional programming expertise. The role focuses on building and maintaining backend systems, designing efficient APIs, and ensuring best practices in performance, testing, and security. This position offers the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge fintech platform in collaboration with product and frontend teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using Haskell.
- Work with Beam ORM for PostgreSQL.
- Implement RESTful APIs with the Servant framework.
- Write automated tests with QuickCheck.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Nix, Cabal, Docker, GitHub Actions, and Cachix.
- Ensure backend services meet performance and security standards.
- Collaborate with product and frontend teams to align technical solutions with business needs.
Required Skills
- Strong background in Haskell and functional programming.
- Experience with Beam ORM for PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of Servant framework for RESTful API development.
- Proficiency in writing property-based tests with QuickCheck.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Nix, Cabal, Docker, GitHub Actions, and Cachix.
- Strong problem-solving ability and eagerness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GHC 2022.
- Background in fintech, applied mathematics, or economics.
- Interest in retirement systems and lifetime income products.
- Experience in secure, high-performance backend development.
