We’re growing our product engineering team and looking for Senior Backend Engineers who are pragmatic, product-oriented, and excited about crafting lovable solutions that replace outdated, painful industry tools.
What You’ll Do
As a Senior Backend Engineer at Mercury, you will:

Own your work from start to finish—taking initiative and shaping key parts of Mercury’s future.

Collaborate across disciplines—partner with designers and product managers to deliver exceptional user experiences.

What We’re Looking For
Ideal candidates will have:

3–7 years of backend development experience.

SQL proficiency and interest in, or experience with, Haskell.

A strong user perspective—able to empathize with and build for real customer needs.

Experience making architectural decisions, with an understanding of long-term tradeoffs.

Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.

Compensation & Benefits
Our total rewards include competitive salary, equity, and comprehensive benefits. We base compensation on experience, expertise, location, and internal equity.
Base salary ranges:

US: $166,600 – $208,300

Canada: CAD 157,400 – 196,800
